subcommittees. Come to a meeting and bring your ideas for change
and results:
Law
Enforcement
Toledo Police Department, Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, the
US Attorney’s Office, and DEA coordinate services to reduce and
prevent crime, drug-stings and community residents vigilantly
protecting each other.
NIP Subcommittee residents meet every:
4th Monday of the month at 6 pm
Kent Branch Library, Collingwood / Central
Community Policing
Weed & Seed officers, Walk-N-Talk: Residents and police working
together to improve police-community relations, Youth Probation
Team, Bike and Horse patrol, community block watch, and channeling
gang activity in youth programming.
ONYX Subcommittee residents meet every:
2nd Tuesday of the month at 6 PM
MLK Kitchen for the Poor, 650 Vance. St.
Prevention, Intervention & Treatment
Includes safe havens for neighborhood youth – creating art at
Toledo Art Museum Glass Pavilion, social services from area agencies,
ASSETS Toledo computer and entrepreneurial training, and prisoner
re-entry programs and youth initiatives.
Subcommittee meets 4th Monday of the month
Kent Branch Library, Collingwood / Central
Neighborhood Restoration
Includes demolition of unsafe abandoned houses and structures
in the community; Neighborhood Clean-ups, and revitalization efforts;
Mayoral Model Black Program, two-weeks of city services in neighborhood,
and concentration of NIP/ONYX thoroughfares.
